The Swedish drummer, composer and classical percussionist John Eriksson explores the world of electronic and acoustic music through his own productions.
Eriksson combines the influences from his life within classical contemporary music and the songwriting with his daytime job with “Peter Bjorn and John” with an autodidact recording technique to create a colourful blend of lo-fi disco, minimalism, action-movie soundtrack music from the 80´s, sound collage and synth-pop.
As one of the first releases, the Ingrid Artist Collective proudly presents the debut album by Hortlax Cobra.
Night Shift is a saga circling around nightly decisions, pointless phone calls and hazy thoughts during the hour of the wolf. A phantasmic journey from Berlin to Miami filled with surprising twists and obscure guessing games.
If Giorgio Moroder would have composed music for Ingmar Bergman this is what it might have sounded like.
If the multi media artist Öyvind Fahlström would have created dance music this is what it might have sounded like.
If someone from ABBA would have made an album together with someone from Kraftwerk under the influence this is what it might have sounded like.
But Night Shift was recorded in Stockholm and Milan in spread out lumps of days between 2010 and 2012 and it sounds like it sounds like.
A nocturnal soundtrack to a spinning mind.
