We're Throwing a Birthday Party at D.C.'s Newest Venue, Union Stage
STEPHANIE WILLIAMS DECEMBER 11, 2017
Over the last six years D.C. Music Download has had the honor of spotlighting D.C.’s best musicians to a regional, national–and even international–audience. What makes DCMD a worthwhile project for the team is the opportunity to expose people to new music, ideas and discourse all while supporting the artists we love. Besides our online coverage, one of the most important ways we do this is through putting on shows, where we can offer a richer, fuller music experience that can’t be duplicated in a 2D format. Next month, we’re pumped to present our biggest event of the year–DCMD’s sixth year anniversary–and we’ve got some very special guests on deck.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 27–we’ll be hosting our party at the soon-to-be-open Union Stage, located at The Wharf overlooking the Potomac River. Joining us for the celebration is D.C. trio SHAED, who has made waves well beyond the District for their polished electro-pop sensibilities. Signed to boutique New York label Photo Finish–home to acts like Marian Hill and MisterWives–SHAED has headlined Billboard’s Hot 100 Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, South by Southwest and more major music events just in the last year alone. Before releasing their highly-anticipated debut album next year, they’ll play a special hometown show to help us ring in another year.
